Onderzoek Sustainability University en Nyenrode Business Universiteit biedt een routekaart naar het werk van de toekomst. Op basis van een handleiding met praktische handvatten en concrete voorbeelden laat het onderzoek zien hoe professionals hun transitievaardigheden kunnen inzetten en ontwikkelen om interventies uit te voeren die leiden naar een circulaire of duurzame bedrijfsvoering. Het onderzoek is mede mogelijk gemaakt door de Goldschmeding Foundation. Het artikel beschrijft en maakt deel uit van de resultaten van een praktijkonderzoek naar transitievaardigheden voor duurzaamheidsprofessionals, waaronder een handleiding, een beschrijving van 51 circulaire praktijkcases en vier verdiepende cases.

Companies play an important role in the transition towards a circular economy. Embedding circular economy is relatively new for most companies and professionals. This transition requires the people working in companies to do things differently. Different from what they were used to and were trained for.
The Sustainability University started this project to study the specific competencies among sustainability professionals, to successfully realize the circular economy within their companies. Our research show that “system thinking”, “foresight thinking” and “entrepreneurship” is mentioned as the most important competencies for embedding circular economy.
